Getting started

Business resilience is a term used to describe the ability of a business to withstand a threatening event. Business resilience itself is a broad term that encompasses crisis management and business continuity. They’re quite often used interchangeably and it’s very easy to be confused about what they mean.

Achieving resilience is also an opportunity to work on the business. A study here (link below) has shown that business continuity management improved business performance. So not only does the business build resiliency to adverse effects, but also has a by-product of improving business functions.

One probable explanation here is that when business resilience is built, ways of obtaining new skills and insights from business resilience are transferred over to everyday business operations. Therefore we cannot understate the advantages of business resiliency.
